    Preventive Ovary Removal Linked To Early Death In Younger Women, Mayo Clinic Discovers  Sep 16, 2006
    These women may have a genetic predisposition to uterine diseases or other symptoms that prompted hysterectomy, which then prompted preventive ovariectomy, while the same predisposition also increased the risk of cancer or other causes of death following the surgery.     The discovery by Monash Institute of Medical Research senior scientist Caroline Gargett could provide better understanding of uterine diseases, and ground-breaking treatments for pelvic floor problems, which affect many women.
