    Govt to consider baby formula ad ban  Aug 9, 2007
    Studies have shown breastfeeding helps protect babies against gastrointestinal and respiratory tract diseases, and it potentially reduces asthma, allergies and childhood obesity. While most Australian women start breastfeeding, about half give up within the first six months, and very few follow recommendations to give only breast milk for the first six months.
