Thurman brings attention to son's disease Apr 14, 2010
He wants people to gain more awareness of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome more commonly known as EDS. May is EDS Awareness Month and Thurman has reached a goal of getting Gov. Chet Culver to sign a proclamation stating that for Iowa. "More commonly known" because not too many people know about EDS. Thurman knows a lot about it, or what research has been done because his son, Jeremy, has the rarest form of the disease. (Fort Madison Daily Democrat, IO)
